I’ve been using a new tool for a while now so it is time to share it with you all. Here is a video and article with my “Dynalist Review.” Let me know if you have any questions.

What is Dynalist?

Dynalist is web-based outlining software.

What is Outlining Software?

Outlining software easily lets you create outlines that consist of bullet points you can move around. The outline can be expanded or collapsed so you can focus on just one section.

My First Outlining Software – PC Outline

My very first outlining software was PC-Outline back in the days of DOS (yes, I am that old). PC-Outline really introduced me to the potential and power of outlining and I have used outlining ever since.

I’d like to offer a shoutout and thank you to Daniel Rose at https://www.danielsays.com/ for the awesome PC-Outline picture.

What are Outlines Good For?

Outlines are fantastic for:

  • planning
  • brainstorming
  • working out steps
  • checklists
  • sharing

I’ve highlighted checklists here because I am the “checklist King” and every new task or project I start off with a checklist. I also create checklists for my clients and students.

Dynalist vs Other Tools

You might think “Why would I use Dynalist when I already have tools that can outline like Word or PowerPoint?”

I do work in Word and PowerPoint but these programs tend to have only one document file per outlines, so you have to search your computer to find them. Dynalist is very intuitive and keeps all your outlines in one place.

As a professional speaker, I use PowerPoint everyday, but I will still often start a new presentation in Dynalist first because of its intuitiveness, then copy the outline to PowerPoint to add graphics.

Dynalist Pricing

Dynalist has a very generous free version that allows for unlimited outlines and a Pro version for only $7.99 per month (billed annually) with additional integrations.
